I Love Books

Keenan loves books. We always have to read his color book ( the booking laying next to him). He keeps close tabs on his color book. He likes to find objects that match the colors in his color book.
Today he fell asleep reading books to himself. It is so fun to watch him grow. He tries to keep up with his big brothers.

Fire Station Field Trip

Keenan loves his preschool. This last week was a field trip to the fire station. First they did a few activates in the teachers back yard before heading to the fire station.

The Fire Chief showed them a video about fire safety and then they were able to go out a see the fire truck.

The sirens were very loud but the lights were fun to watch. Keenan loves to get with his friends a learn new things.

Keenan's Balance Bike

We are always excited to get our boys going on learning to ride a balance bike. Carter never really rode the balance bike because it was to big and he learned to balance on a scooter. He then went right to a regular  peddle bike. For Keenan's balance bike we decided to try and modify the bike so that it would be shorter. Thomas cut the welds then lowered the cross bars and welded everything back together. It made the bike 3 inches shorter and the perfect size for Keenan. We took it over to the church to try it out on flat, even sidewalks. He had a great time.

Carter and Seth love the pegs on the back tires of their bikes. They love to give rides to Keenan. He always has a great time. Keenan wants to be just like his big brothers.

International days

As part of International days they do a kids bike parade. It is the highlight of their week. The boys love to wear their helmets in the parade so that they can get candy from the police officers for protecting their brains.

These two were good sports to ride in the stroller.

We welcomed Ashley Jo in to this world on Saturday May 2nd at 11:47. We are so happy to have her here and she came with perfect timing.

Her brothers just love her. She is going to be very protected. They are going to be big helpers.

Delicate Arch

Thomas'  brother Michael and his wife Jen were in town this last weekend and they planned to go the Arches National park so we joined them.
It was just under a 2 hour drive to get there from Price. It was a very nice day and the weather was wonderful.
Thomas, Michael, Jen, and Grandpa Jenson hiked with Seth, Carter, and Keenan up to Delicate Arch. It was about a 3 mile hike round trip. With a beautiful view. Thomas said that the boys did great hiking up and back. Keenan rode on Thomas back part of the way but wanted to be down and hike on his own.
Grandma and I waiting down by the cars. I did not think that it would be a good idea for me to hike this close (37 weeks pregnant)  to having a baby.
It was nice to enjoy the sunshine. When they returned we had a picnic lunch. They had all worked up a great appetite. After lunch the little boys had fun playing in all the red sand that was around. It was like a giant sand box. Some of the sand is even in the van now that we have returned.

School Play

Seth was in the underwear commercial for the school play "The Ugly Duck".

His lines were:
Our UH-UNDERWEAR
It fits you over there
Our UH-UNDERWEAR
It fits you even there and everywhere
With room to roam
They're like home sweet home
That's the PUH-POWER UH-OF OUR
UH-UH-UNDERWEAR (OUR UNDERWEAR)

Seth enjoyed being in the play. He looks forward to participating in future plays.

Keenan At the Dentist

Keenan went to the dentist for the first time. He was such a great patient. He was happy to sit in the chair. He also did great while they took x-rays. The dental assistant laughed and thought he was just too cute because he kept his mouth open even after they were done with the exam.

Carter was there for moral support.  They both got balloon fishing poles with a fish.

The First Snow Man This Season

We finally got snow and it is perfect for building a snowman. We got about 3 inches but it is nice and wet and packs together.

Carter is always wanting to build a snowman whenever there has been snow, but the snow just has not come.

Thomas rolled up all the snow in our front yard with some help from Carter and Keenan.

The next day the sun came out again and melted all the snow. The snowman lasted a few days longer but was not around long. Carter wanted me to put the snowman in the freezer so that he would last but there just was not room. He really enjoyed the snowman while he lasted.

Swing Set Pallet Roof

My parents bought a swing set a few years ago.  It came with tarps that made canopies that covered a little table and also the platform at the top of the slide.  The sun had completely rotted them.  They had holes in them.  It was time to do something new.  I took apart four free pallets. I got enough wood to fix all three sloped awnings.

We decided that we needed to stain the new roofs to make them match the rest of the swing set and to protect them from the weather.  I had a very small amount of reddish brown stain from when I made a set of bunk beds and I had some oak colored stain.  Neither was enough to complete the job alone.  I also had a small can of polyurethane.  I dumped all three together, not measuring.  I am very pleased with the color.  I think it matches near perfectly.  More importantly, Grandma Jenson thinks it matches near perfectly.  It was a fun project.
