This Bed is Too Soft

Little Goldie Locks does not always like to sleep in his bed. When it is time for a nap, Seth is put in his room and the door is closed behind him. Sometimes he cries and wants out, but it is for the best that he take a nap. Lately he has started to play with his toys instead of taking a nap. When he gets tired enough, he will fall asleep wherever he is. Usually he is upside down in his bed. This time he was sitting next to his bed, lean on it with one arm supporting his head. He reminds me of Michael sleeping in sacrament meeting.

I guess most kids at this age are still sleeping in a crib. Seth is an obedient little boy, but only if he decides to be. If we try to force him to obey, he fights it and does exactly the opposite of what we want. He will normally go to bed without much fighting. If we try to put him in a pack n play, he will cry and will not let up. It is easier on us and on him if he sleeps in a bed with no bars and no restrictions.

Valentine's Day...I have been pardoned

When we first got married, Jennifer told me not to buy her flowers. She said that they are a waste of money and that they just die. She would rather have breakfast in bed. She does not want me to buy her presents on Valentine's Day. She told me that she would rather have me do nice things for her. I guess she would like me to wash the dishes or take out the trash or change one dirty diaper; hopefully just peed in. Ladies, how would you like your husband to take out the trash and call it a present to you on V-Day? Do you think that I should believe her? I did. We were at Jennifer's parents house on V-Day. I got up and got myself breakfast, so that Jennifer would not have to. I put my own bowl in the sink when breakfast was finished. I took Seth at church, so that Jennifer could enjoy her class. Then when we got home from church, I controlled myself enough to let Seth take a long nap. I gave Jennifer many presents today. I hope she enjoyed them, if she recognized them as presents.

Black eyes are better than black ears

Jennifer has been very excited since she found out that we are having a boy. She has pulled out all of our old things and gone through them and reorganized them a few times. She has been pulling out every box in the closet, even if it does not have baby stuff in it. Seth is right in the middle trying to help. She has been wiping down the pack n play; cleaning and mending any tears that it had. Seth takes his turn with the rag. He does not really cleaning anything but looks at though he is doing a good job. The other day Jennifer had her sewing machine on the floor. Seth tripped on his own feet and face planted on the sewing machine. That day his left cheek was all red. The next day it turned into a black eye. It surprised us, since we thought that he hit his cheek on the machine not his eye. The bruise must have worked its way up there. It did not seem to hurt him too much. After a few seconds he was just fine and up running around again.
