Carter's New Bike

Carter got a new bike for Christmas. It was $5 from DI. A few weeks before Christmas we asked Carter if he was going to ask Santa for a new bike with brakes and the ability to coast. Which his old bike did not have. He said he did not need to ask Santa for a bike, we could just watch at DI and find one.
It has been cold and wet outside so this is the first time he has had a chance to try his new bike.
We have not had much snow in Price but Carter has been dying to build a snowman. We got enough snow to make a very little snowman and he was so excited.

Christmas Morning

Keenan was excited to get started opening presents.

Seth woke up at 3:30 am excited to open presents. We sent him back to bed until 5:30. He was excited about this remote control helicopter. He is a little hesitant to fly it, but he like to watch Thomas fly it.

Carter got a remote control car. He loves that he can drive it himself.

Keenan loved all of his presents. He is easily entertained.

The boys each got their own pair of boxing gloves. Now they do not have to share one pair of gloves.

It was a good Christmas morning.

Coat Rack

We needed to make a tool that would help make exact cuts multiple times. Thomas came up with this out of scrapes that he had around.
He is now cutting slots for the hooks of the coat rack. He did this on all four sides of a 4x4 post.

This is the finished product. It took about 2 hours to make. It is nice and strong.

Now the boys have a great place to hang their coats so that they are not laying on the floor. The coats are handy to grab on the way out the door.

Santa

We went to the main street carpet store to see Santa. The boys were excited.

Seth has a long list of things that he wants for Christmas. Santa told him he would do his best to make him happy on Christmas Eve.

Carter could only remember one thing that he wants, so Santa is sure he can bring it to him for Christmas.

We were not sure how Keenan would do with Santa but he was happy to sit on Santa's lap. He would not open his eyes for the picture. He did not have anything to ask Santa for.

Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas Tree Hunt

We went out the Saturday after Thanksgiving to hunt for our Christmas Tree. We took Grandpa Jenson with us because he is the best tree finder.

We walked around for about an hour looking at all the trees. We saw a lot of little trees that would be perfect for the future. We cleared some of the sage brush away from them so that they have a little more room to grow. This is the tree we decided to cut down and bring home.

All of the boys got down and helped Thomas cut down the tree. They all love helping Dad. It was a great adventure.

BYU Football VS Savannah State

We bought tickets to the Savannah state football game early in the season and hope that the weather would be wonderful. We had been watching the weather all week and knew just what to expect. We were prepared.

It rained on us while we ate our lunch so the canopy kept us all dry.  We were able to heat up hotdogs and enjoyed hot chocolate.

Keenan fell asleep as we walked back to the church parking lot after the Cougar walk. During the game the weather was nice. It sprinkled on us a little. We were almost to warm with all our layers. After the game was over the rain really came. We were happy that it waited until after the game.  We did not let the rain stop us from having a great time.

Homemade Camo

Thomas has been wanting to find some desert camo. He was unable to find anything that he liked or wanted to pay for.  He decide to make his own. He went to DI and found tan colored clothes and painted them himself. He cut out different camo shapes. Then places them on the fabric one at a time and spray painted over them. He is super excited to us his new camo to hunt coyotes.

Halloween

We had a great Halloween. Seth and Keenan were both Ninjas. Seth added vampire teeth and was a vampire ninja. Carter was Frankenstein. It is the same costume that he wore last year. It is great that it still fit.

Painted Pumpkins

Our boys love to paint their pumpkins.

Seth was the first one done. He new exactly what he wanted to do. His is Ninjago. Who is a Lego character that fights Nindroids.

Keenan and Carter could have painted all night. They kept wanting different colors. We had to make them stop so that their pumpkins had some color and were not just brown by mixing all the colors.

When Keenan was finished he kept saying Nice, Nice. He was very proud for his pumpkin.

BYU vs Virginia 2014

We went to the BYU Football game this last Saturday.  BYU beat Virginia 41-33.  It was a hot day, but it was a lot of fun.  The boys loved to be part of the action in the stadium and to sing the Cougar Fight Song many times.

We went down to the Cougar Walk and the tailgate party.  Then we walked back up the hill to the church parking lot for lunch.  We decided to take the double (triple) stroller.  Thomas pushed the boys up the hill.  It was nice to have the stroller to carry all of our stuff.  We got some free t-shirts, a few posters, and other BYU gear.

The stroller was great.  The boys were thankful for the ride.  It was a lot easier than carrying Keenan and pulling Seth and Carter along.  Seth and Carter would have been tired by time we got back to the church.  Just as we entered the parking lot, Carter jumped out and ran to the van.  He was very proud to have won the race.

The Cougar Walk is one of our favorite parts of going to the game.  The football players arrive in a bus and are dropped off on the North end of the stadium.  They then walk down the East side of the stadium and enter through the South gates.  Fans line both sides of the sidewalk and give the players five.  It is fun to see the players and the coaches.  Sorry, no time for autographs.

Keenan took a nice nap before we went to the game.  Then he was wide awake and enjoyed the game very much.  All of the boys did well, even with the heat.  We had plenty of water, but did not have to go down to use the restroom except at halftime.

We made BYU shirts for the boys to wear.  They loved them.  At the tailgate party, BYU Alumni booth was handing out black stickers that go under your eyes.  They said BYU on them.  The boys loved them, even more than the shirts.   Carter's fell off, he was sweating too much.  Seth kept his and wore them for a few days after school.

Carter got a BYU rag cap for your head.  You get it wet and then wear it to keep cool.  He loves it.  He wears it to bed to keep his head cool.  We had a lot of fun at the BYU Football game.  We are excited to go again in November.

Keenan wore a suit jacket for the first time. He was so excited to be like his big brothers. We like these little suits knowing the we get multiple use out them.

Keenan's Ear Tubes

Keenan needs ear tubes. He has had 4 ear infection since May.  We hope that the tubes will help his ears to drain and not become infected We went to the Hospital this morning to have his ear tubes put in.  They have great staff that were wonderful at keeping him calm and showing him some of the thing that he would be having done while in the hospital.

Even though it was early he was happy to play.

Keenan getting ready to head back for the procedure to be done. It only took about 10 minutes. When he returned to me he had the look of a deer in the head lights. He was a little fussy coming out of anesthesia. After about an hour he was ready to walk out of the hospital. He was excited to go home.

Higham's New Roof

It was time to redo Jennifer's parents roof. The original shingles had been on the roof for close to 30 years. I made this shirt especially for the job.

We wanted to make sure that we got it done before the start of football season. The weather was overcast most of the day and did not rain. Great weather for shingling a roof. We started at 8 am and were finished around 7 pm.  I enjoyed about 8 of those 11 hours.

We were so glad to be finished. Ernie and I were the only two working on the roof and could have used some help. I used the nail gun to put in over 5,500 nails and being on a slope that long made for some sore muscles. When we were done, it looked great and Tammie was very pleased.

Y Mtn Hike

We have always talked about hiking up to the Y on the mountain in Provo.  Finally we we did it.  We wanted to do it before the football season started.  We went early in the morning to beat the heat.  There are 12 switchbacks that wind their way up the mountain.  Seth and Carter did well, with much prodding and encouragement.  I carried Keenan on my shoulders.  Jennifer carried Keenan for a few minutes but decided I better take care of him.  She took Seth and Carter by the hands and helped them to keep moving.

It was quite a climb.  Once we got to the top the boys wanted to walk around on the Y.  It is pretty steep and not good footing for a boy.  We took in the view and rested a bit before heading down.

While at the top we were able to spot three temples (Provo, Provo City Center and Timpanogos).

Castle Valley Pageant 2014

We went to Castle Valley Pageant. We got there early so there was plenty of time to participate in all the activities. We got prairie diamonds, they are bent horse shoe nails. The boys tried to milk a cow. We sampled homemade honey taffy.

We watched a horse be shoes and then went on a wagon ride.

It was a fun evening. We are happy that Grandma and Grandpa Jenson joined us.

Jeremy Evans

We went to the BDAC to see Jeremy Evans.

He came and did different relays and competitions with the kids. They also did shooting contests and the team that lost had to run around the gym. All the kids had a great time.

Carter did not want to wear his shirt because it is to big, but was willing to hold it up for a picture. They got Jeremy Evans to sign their t-shirts.

This is how the boys compare to a professional Jazz basketball player.
