I Am a Good Cleaner

Carter is a great cleaner. He loves to help me out and is sometimes to much of a helper. Today he split some water on the table and thankfully he was quick to clean it up. I had just gotten done tutoring a little girl so I had paper on the table. He was quick to clean up his water so it did not make it to my papers. I came into the room and he told me to move my stuff so that he could keep cleaning. He told me “I am a cleaner, so move so I can keep cleaning.” He cleaned all of the kitchen table and most of the floor. He was a great help. It is to bad he is not this quick at cleaning up after himself or more careful not to make a mess. I guess I will just take what I can get. He is helpful most of the time.

Ammo Box

Sometimes it is hard to find ammunition at the store.  When I find a good deal, I buy a few boxes.  I don't want just enough ammo for the weekend,  I want enough ammo for a few years.  All the ammo boxes that I am collecting end up being stored on top of my dresser.  That is not going to work for much longer.  I decided to make an ammo box to store them and keep them dust free.

Most of the parts to this box are recycled.  The only new parts are a few screws and two hinges.  I used wood from an old, plywood door that I took off my shed.

The handles on the sides of the box are from some old cabinets doors that I tore out of my kitchen.

The knob on the lid is the brass of a shotgun shell.  This is the first shotgun shell that I every shot with my gun.

Ducks Unlimited sticker

My shotgun is a Mossberg 500A

This should hold plenty of ammo.  Now to see if I can pick it up when it is loaded.

Baseball back stop

We play a lot of batting practice in the backyard.  The only place good for pitching and hitting is just behind the carport.  Unfortunately, Seth does not hit every pitch.  The ball usually ends up under the work bench and behind something where Seth cannot reach it.

We had a gate sitting along the side of the house.  We decided to make a back stop with it.  It works great.

We made a foot to go on each side of the gate.  They are removable for easy storage.  We made the feet out of scrap wood from previous projects.

We are glad to have this back stop.  Now we spend more time pitching and less time searching for the ball.

Don't put this on Facebook.

This week Price had there International Days. Which means free swimming at the Wave Pool. They did free swimming Thursday and Friday. The boys had such a great time. We swam both days. I was surprised at how much fun the boys had at the pool.

Seth and Carter did not want their pictures taken. They kept running from the camera.

Seth did not think I got a picture of him. He told me not to put them on Facebook. I do not know what he has against Facebook. I am sure that will change in a few years.
We are loving summer.

Can I go to School Tomorrow?

Seth has turned five. To him it is the luckiest age. The biggest thing that he is looking forward to is going to school. Last night after blowing out his birthday candles he asked me. "Now that I am 5 can I go to school tomorrow?" I laughed and said school is out for the summer. You will have to wait until August 26th. I told him you will not miss a day.
He was okay with that but is so excited to go to school.
Happy Birthday!!

PVC T-Ball

Seth and Carter play T-Ball at home in the backyard all the time.  They enjoy it and are good at taking turns.  Seth has played T-Ball with Carbon Recreation and Carter can hardly wait for his turn to play next summer.

Last time that we were at Grandma and Grandpa Higham's house they asked Grandpa if they could play T-Ball.  He did not have a rubber tee like they have at home.  Instead, he cut a piece of pvc pipe and hammered it into the ground.  It worked great.

They played for more than an hour.  They did not want to leave it when it was time for dinner.  Thanks Grandpa for all the fun.

4th of July

We went out and shot Thomas' new shotgun in the morning, before it got too hot. We did not have much success because Seth and I are not good at throwing clay pigeons. Thomas ended up throwing the clays and then shooting them too.

I hit Thomas in the arm and Seth hit him in the leg. I do not know if it is something he wants us to keep trying. He loves his new gun and looks forward to dove hunting in the fall.

Keenan would not wear these sound reducing ear muffs while we were shooting, but loved them later.

That evening we went to the fair grounds in Price to participate in family activities before the fireworks.

They had a few different bounce houses and the kids had a great time. I thought that there was going to be a lot more people. We only had to wait about 5 mins are each bounce house.  Carter called this castle, the temple.

There was also face painting. They were happy to be twins. Carter did not want to wash his off at the end of the day.
We had a front row view of the fireworks. It was a great 4th of July.
