Outside Shelving

Thomas put up some shelving in our outside shed. Thomas framed the shelves with 2x4's. 

 We got the tops of the shelving from the flooring store. They were flooring samples but work great as shelving and they have a great finish on them.

Thomas also changed the door. it was 2 doors that were only 5 feet 10 inches and did not shut or open easily.  Now there is one door that is over 6 foot 5. that works much better. Thomas is so handy. 

We will store things like tools and Christmas decorations in there.  

Carport Roof Repair

 Thomas worked last Saturday to replace the parts of out carport roof that leaked and had gone rotten. Today was the day to seal our roof. Thomas bought some liquid rubber to stop the leaks in our carport roof. The first step was to mix it with the drill. 

Thomas then took the bucket up to the roof. He would dump it out then spread it with a paint roller. 

It took more buckets of rubber then we had original thought because it went down in the cracks in the tar that remained on the roof. Which is good but we had to run to the store to get another bucket to finish.

While I was up on the roof Carter thought that he should help with the mixing. Except he used his hands. I was able to clean it mostly out of his cloths. He did not like getting a scrub down in the tub to get it off his hands and legs. We hope to have no more leaks.

Hunter King for Intern of the Year

This is what I have to look at everyday.  This is Hunter King.  He is an intern at Jake Mellor Financial.  He is going to school at SUU studying finance and is currently interning for the summer with us.  He is a good friend of Michael.  I have known him since he was just a little kid.  I knew him back when he had a mullet/mohawk.  He was in the play Peter Pan as a Lost Boy.  He went to Lubbock Texas on his mission and he speaks Spanish.  He does not always use the same Spanish words that I do.  I learned Mexican, while he met people from Mexico, Argentina and other strange lands as well.  He mostly speaks Spanglish.  He likes sports, but don't ask his opinion about which team will win, because there are too many variables to consider.  It is nice having an intern around.  He cleans up my messes and takes out the garbage.  I can tell do him to crappy jobs and he does them without complaining.  He is fun to have around.

First Real Game of T-Ball

Seth has had a T-ball tee since he was 18 months old.  He has been playing with it near everyday for two and a half years.  The time has come to put all the practice to work.  Seth started T-Ball this week, and had his first real game.  He has had plenty of imaginary games in the backyard.  He did really well in his first game.  They play three innings.  All the kids get a turn to bat.  They do not keep score or count outs.  T-Ball is not for winning or losing, it's just to learn the fundamentals.

Grandpa Jenson, Mariah, Weston, Chace, Tyler, and Dallan all came to support him.  Their cheers were appreciated.

He was very excited and very pleased to wear the hat that his Uncle John gave him.  

In the first and second innings he played second base.  Most of the balls only made it to the pitcher.  The few balls that made it to him, he quickly grabbed and threw to first base.  The first basemen was busy looking at his mama and did not catch them.  In the third inning he played first base.  He did not catch any either, though most of them bounced and rolled into his feet.  It is the first basemen's job to throw the ball to home for the next batter.  Seth was actually strong enough to throw the ball all the way home to the other coach.    

He did really well at batting.  All three innings he had good hits.  His furthest hit went about 15 feet past second base.  Here he is on third base.  I told him to keep his eye the ball to know when to run, but he had to stop and wave the fans.

All of the kids on Seth's team are either 4 or 5.  He is only 3.  Even though he is the youngest, he is the best on the team.  He has had the most practice.

Swimming

 Last week we got free passes to the wave pool. Carter did not like the water so he played with the water cannon. He was always trying to get Seth. Seth would stay just out of reach of the cannon. 

Seth loves the water. He loved it even more when I put these water wings on him. 

He really loved the waves even if they went over his head. We stayed for over 3 hours and Seth could have stayed there forever.  He was having so much fun. He has not stopped asking me if we can go back to the wave pool.
