Skip's Seatcover

Last year for Christmas we bought Skip new seatcovers for his truck's front seats. A few weeks ago I noticed that the driver's side had a hole in it already. You pay $20 and they are only good for 6 months. It is hard to find a decent seat cover now days. Trucks, especially, have a problem with the driver's side seat getting a hole in it. I searched around on internet, looking for a heavy duty seat cover and found a few. The problem is that they were all $50 or so; and that was for just one. I asked Jennifer to check at Walmart and find some heavy duty material and we would make some. She found the perfect material. It is soft on the front, yet heavy duty. The back is the best part. It has a grippy, rubbery surface that total eliminates fraying. We went over to Skip's house to measure his driver's seat, but he left the truck at work. We got the keys from Amy Jo and went over to Skip's work later that night. We tried to be sneaky and do it without Skip knowing. We ended up taking off the old seatcover, cutting it at the seams and making a pattern. It took us about 3 1/2 hours to complete, and it turned out great. Here is our work.

4th of July

We started the weekend by going up to Logan for a family reunion with Thomas' extended family (Critchfield Reunion). The weather was excellent.

We stayed at Early Park, a camp ground owned by the church. They have these really cool hand carts that make moving your stuff alot of fun. They also make for good rides for the children.

They had a large blow up water slide that all of the kids enjoyed.

We had a dutch oven cook off. All the food was excellent. Linda and Mark made a delicious chocolate and cherry upside down cake. Thomas' favorite dish was the Mexican lasagna.

Since Erica and Amy Jo are expecting (babies, not to win the lottery), we all gathered around to help make baby blankets for them.

We then spent the rest of the weekend through Monday in Clearfield with my parents. For lunch we had hamburgers and roasted corn on the cob.

Gardening

These last few days I have been helping my family plant their garden. We planted beans, zucchini, squash, carrots, tomatoes, radishes, peppers and potatoes.

The first day that we work I was so excited to help that I did not realize that I was getting sun burnt. We were also out during the hottest part of the day but I did not seem to notice.
Since that first day we have only gone out first thing in the morning and I have worn sunscreen to reduce the burn.

This year Thomas and I have planted a few things over at his sister AmyJo's house, but I look forward to the day that we have our own place that we can plant our own garden. It is so fun to watch things grow.

Russia

Thomas is off to Russia. Seth and I are staying with my parents for the week. We do not have a lot of things to do while we are here but it will be great to visit. They will surly keep us busy.

Seth Upright

Seth is getting interested in walking. He is starting to get the hang of it, just not out in the open air. He is walking around the edge of the room. He walks along the couch and uses the wall for support. He just discovered this walker and thinks it is so fun. He laughs the whole time that he is using it.

Sometimes he gets brave and lets go of the couch. He reachs for us to hold his hand. As he lets go of the couch, he leans for us but does not move his feet. He should get this whole walking thing down very soon. We are very excited for him to be walking. Then when we go places we will not have to hold him the entire time. He is getting a little heavy.

Andrew returned home on May 7th

Seth and I were able to stay with my parents for a few days while Thomas returned to Cedar to work. Andrew was alittle worried that Seth would not like him, just because he is a new person and has not been around. As you can see that was not the case. Seth was more willing to go to Andrew over everyone else. Andrew sat down to write his talk and Seth fell asleep.

We will have to keep him around.

Graduation

We are so excited for Thomas to be graduating. It has been a long year that has finally come to an end. Now we will be able to see him more around the house without him needing to be getting homework done.

It took a long time to get through all of the graduates, especially all of the masters degrees, but at the end a few of the professors "The Dead Economist" played the Business school blues. This was really funny.

Seth was really excited to look around and to watch everything that was going on, but it was a really fun and exciting but Seth just could not keep his eyes open any longer.
