Fun Day In St. George

Last Friday we went St. George with Grandma and Grandpa Jenson. Grandma had workshops with the school district, so we had time to kill with Grandpa. The first place we went was to the St. George Temple. It was over cast so we needed our coats. We walked around the temple and looked at all the newly planted flowers. Seth touched the doors and helped keep the rocks in the rightful place.

We then went and walked around the mall. Carter was way excited about being behind the wheel.

Seth tried all of the different cars but his favorite one was the ice cream truck.

This saucer has been great to keep Carter away from the fireplace and treadmill while they are on. He tries to pull himself up to it but does not yet have the strength so he decided to crawl under. It makes a nice fort, and Seth is not allowed inside (he can't fit).

Pinewood Derby

Seth was so excited about the Pinewood Derby. Thomas put his car together a week before the pack meeting and just set it in the hall closet just out of Seth's reach. He would ask me for it several times a day.

Thomas did not do any modifications to the block. It just took a little yellow, and black paint.  It is a bus, because Seth loves to see the bus.

Seth was able to race his car 4 times and took 4th in his category out of 6. After the race Seth had even more fun racing his car over and over again. He would put the bus at the top of the track and then race to the bottom to bring it back and race again. It was a fun night.

Carter is on the move!!!

He has now learned to go forwards. It took him about 5 days to master the whole precess and now he is a pro. There is not a place that he can not go. He has not been to bad about getting into everything. Everything that he does find though goes strait into his mouth so we have to make sure the floors stay clean.
Here is what we did on Valentines day. We started to clean our apartment since everything was in boxes. Thomas was in the kitchen cleaning behind the oven and  refrigerator while I started on the pantry with a little extra light.

A New Job

We have been in Cedar City for almost 4 years and the time has just flown by. We have enjoyed Cedar. Our only complaint is that it is far from family. 3 1/2 hours from my parents and 4 hours from Jennifer's parents. I know it could have been worse, but it was far enough. I have been working at Jiffy Lube all this time and mostly enjoying myself. My boss, Tyson Redd, was very good to work with my school schedule. Most of the time I was able to go to school full time and still work 40 hours. It put me out of the house from 8 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday.
A few days ago, Erica called me on the phone and said that she knew of an accounting job in Price. She worked in a carpet store in Logan a few years ago and the guy, Jason Ward, also had a store in Price and needed a new accountant there. I told Jennifer that there was a possible job in Price and she was very excited. She could not stop smiling the rest of the night. Erica gave me Jason's number and I called him. It took me about three days to get a hold of him. I spoke with him on the phone for a total of 6 minutes and he decided to hire me. Sometimes (most of the time) its not only what you know, but who you know that gets you a job.
I put in my two weeks notice at Jiffy Lube and I start work in Price at Wholesale Flooring Source on the 21st of February 2011.

Cornered

Carter is all over the place, but he can’t even crawl yet. He has his own way of somehow getting from here to there. I sit him on the floor and before I know it he is gone. He slides around on his bum and can do a full circle. He tries to crawl forward but ends up pushing himself backwards. He also rolls from side to side around the room. Many times his backward motion gets him cornered. He will back to where he can no longer move and then has to cry for help. Usually he is stuck in a corner or wedged under the couch. If only he would move forward. I try to put things just out of reach in front of him so that he will move forward to get them, but he just arches his back and lifts his hands in the air so that he is high centered on his belly and cries. It is a little funny. He does not realize how easy it would be to just move forward. I guess he is just still building the muscles that are needed for crawling.

There have been a few times that Seth has places toys on the couch and Carter has tried to pull himself up to the couch. He also goes for his mother's cellphone. He gets up to the couch and then does not know what to do or how to get back down. He wants to move around so much but just is not strong enough. I am sure he will be crawling before much longer.
