Yesterday Thomas went to DI and found two collapsible chairs that were just perfect for our boys. They were just the right height just like Grandma Jenson has. The only thing wrong was the characters on the chairs: Tinkerbell and Barbie. He thought it would be great for us to redo the covers on them. I went to Walmart and found the perfect BYU fabric for the job. It was also only $2 a yard, which is a steal.
The first thing we did was take off the old covers and wash them. They had to be unpicked because they were sewed right to the frame. Thomas then painted the frames gray.
We then took them apart and used them as a pattern and batting for the new chairs.
We think that they turned out great.
Sometimes when we get an idea for a project, we just have to do it right then. We started after the boys went to bed around 8 pm and finished just before 12 midnight. Some time was spent in figuring out how to make this work.. Once we get the basic plan down it went fairly smooth.
The boys love them.
